About The Position

Eocene Environmental Group has spent the past two decades providing environmental, utility vegetation management (UVM), software and sustainability services. The Agricultural Engineer provides technical support and engineering planning, design, and installation to the conservation, watershed, livestock facility, and wetland workload. The position shall provide leadership and direction, potentially direct and indirect, within the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of engineering instruments, equipment, and systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
  • Ability to complete design work relating to engineering practices and measures
  • Knowledge of construction operations, techniques, and procedures
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal statues, regulations, and design standards pertaining to conservation practice systems and livestock waste
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational skills and tendencies
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change and to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environmental
  • Ability to travel for meetings with clients and site visits
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of industry related experience

  • Current Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a working knowledge adequate to carry out work assignments for all conservation, watershed, livestock facility, and wetland engineering projects
  • Performs, trains, and provides guidance for site investigations, topographic survey, AutoCAD Civil 3D work, and data collection
  • Prepares, provides training, provides guidance, and reviews engineering designs which includes design report, plan sheets, specifications, calculations, and other supporting documentation
  • Performs, trains, and guides on quality assurance to ensure constructed projects meet or exceed designed expectations. Recommends changes as needed for a successful project
  • Works directly and in cooperation with private landowners, private / governmental groups, and permitting agencies. Communicate project goals and expectations to all project stakeholders
  • Works within a team concept to develop and implement ways to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the products and/or services provided to clients
  • Performs duties in a manner supportive of a safe and healthy work environment, and exercises safety precautions when exposed to dangerous objects, chemicals, extreme temperatures, etc.
  • Attend conferences/events and present at events as a technical expert representing the Company
  • Assist in engineering planning, design, and construction of conservation practices
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company culture of safety and employee ownership; comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
  • Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group’s culture of safety and employee ownership
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned or related
