Agricultural/Commercial Loan Officer
About The Position
North Star Community Credit Union is seeking an experienced Ag/Commercial lender to own their portfolio, grow relationships, and make a meaningful impact in the Minot community. This role involves originating, managing, and supervising the commercial loan portfolio while shaping agricultural lending strategy in the Minot region. The ideal candidate will have expertise in North Dakota agricultural markets, proven success with large-scale producers and agribusinesses, and strong analytical skills. This is a relationship-focused, results-driven, and autonomous position with opportunities for leadership and professional growth.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of commercial or agricultural lending experience
- Expertise in North Dakota agricultural markets
- Proven success with large-scale crop and livestock producers, agribusiness operations, or complex farm financing structures
- Experience managing significant agricultural loan portfolios in rural financial institutions
- Strong analytical skills and ability to structure creative, tailored lending solutions
- Relationship-focused, results-driven, autonomous, and ready to lead
- Experience in analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses
- Excellent communication and PR skills
- Ability to use related software required

Responsibilities
- Originate, Manage, and Supervise Loans: Take ownership of North Star’s commercial loan portfolio, maintaining and improving asset quality while developing new and existing business relationships
- Business Development: Grow your portfolio by cultivating high-value agricultural and commercial clients in the Minot area
- Financial Analysis & Structuring: Review business financials, assess risk, and structure loans that maximize client success and portfolio performance
- Portfolio Oversight & Compliance: Monitor assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation
- Member & Community Engagement: Provide strategic guidance to members and represent North Star in industry and local events to strengthen relationships and lending opportunities
