About The Position

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is a statewide campus with faculty based on University campuses, at Research and Extension Centers, and in every Arkansas county. It consists of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) and the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (CES), and is home to more than 1400 employees. The Division was established in 1959 and is headed by the Vice-President for Agriculture. The Division headquarters is located in Little Rock with the rest of the University of Arkansas System Administration. Requirements

  • Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours a week during planting and harvest seasons.
  • Ability to show up for work on time and daily.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to operate a grain truck with 42' hopper bottom trailer.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year experience in row crop farming.

Responsibilities

  • Operating farm machinery and equipment for the purposes of plowing, disking, land planning and planting row crops such as rice, soybeans, corn, grain sorghum, wheat and cover crops.
  • Operating heavy equipment such as but not limited to track hoe, backhoe, & road grader.
  • Operating grain trucks and trailers for the purpose of hauling seed to grain elevators and UADA Foundation Seed destinations.
  • Irrigation, rouging, spraying and harvesting crops.
  • Assisting in station equipment maintenance and upkeep.
  • Assisting in general station maintenance and upkeep which includes shop, office buildings and station houses.
  • Other duties as assigned.
