About The Position

As an Education and Volunteer Coordinator, you will provide community-based education and outreach to metro region consumers and providers on Senior LinkAge Line services and community resources such as covering aging, abuse prevention, long-term care, community living support options, Medicare, and other public programs. You will engage with regional organizations, partners, and individuals to build relationships, deliver education, and recruit, train, retain, and coordinate volunteers to support Senior LinkAge Line programs and services effectively. To stay current with Medicare content, you will also answer calls on the Senior LinkAge Line phone line one day per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a human services-related field, such as social work, nursing, public administration, or gerontology, and one year of professional or internship experience working with older adults; or
  • Two-year certificate or degree in a human services-related field or a community health certificate with three years of experience working with older adults; OR
  • Five years of relevant professional experience working with older adults at a nursing facility, assisted living, hospital, home care, lead agency, etc.
  • Ability to meet specific internet criteria including demonstrated high speed connect ability and the ability to meet privacy and security standards with secure (password protected) internet and demonstrate successful performance.

  • Strategic, manage time well, and can handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Understanding of community resources, public assistance programs, and Medicare.
