What You Will Do Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and support, including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, product software design, verification & validation and engine and flight test support. The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven Principal Engineer to join the Engine System Software organization. The qualified candidate will be responsible for: Develop and/or lead support software tool development in a DevSecOps pipeline Participate in and/or lead process improvements Perform trade studies and analyze solutions Develop and/or lead software requirements and designs within the Agile Framework Perform and/or lead software verification within the Agile Framework Participate in and/or lead Agile ceremonies Participate in software planning, estimating and tracking per Agile framework Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager, and/or part of the Development Team What You Will Learn As a member of a dynamic engineering organization, this position offers the candidate an excellent opportunity to apply multidisciplinary engineering and leadership skills in the development and support of complex engine control and diagnostic systems and software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree and 5 years’ experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • Experience with Microservices, Java, Python, CI/CD, Agile, DevSecOps, AWS, SQL, Test Driven Design
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Solid track record of achieving results in technical leadership role.

  • Proven ability to drive process improvement in a technical organization.
  • Demonstrated Expertise in Software Verification & Validation, functional coverage, code coverage, traceability, methodologies, automation, quality assurance practices, software engineering process
  • Excellent troubleshooting, investigation, problem solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed to interface with Development Team, Customers, Stakeholders and SMEs.
  • Desire for continuous learning and innovation
