About The Position

Peraton is hiring an Agile Requirements Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Fort Meade, Maryland. As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location. As an Agile Requirements Systems Engineer on our team you will support a mission execution solutions team that has numerous software development product teams conducting business at varying levels of maturity of DevOps approaches. Product teams receive requests for both feature advancement and operational support from users. Additionally, product teams must incorporate tech-debt, security and compliance-related requirements into their workload. These team members will need help to support a developing Request/Requirement/Prioritization approach that helps product team leads balance customer requirements, and internal requirements and user requests. The teams use a mix of ticketing systems including Jira and GitLab to manage work at the product level and these tools must stay in sync with the high-level Section or Division level Request/Requirement/Prioritization solution that is currently being defined. This will be a combination of technical solutions and process creation to drive toward a smooth, coordinated and sustainable Request/Requirement/Prioritization approach that provides management level viability to priorities and team level planning. Additionally, you will provide recommendations to advance the architectures that host these products when there are opportunities to advance multiple products into more uniform architecture(s) and processes. Other areas/activities support is required: Acquisition Review Boards (ARB) - planning, tracking and reporting of requirements, metrics Monthly/Quarterly Program reviews: collection and consolidation of data, briefing presentation HW/SW - life cycle refresh/expansion requirements, budget planning and tracking eVo/C2S - tracking of spending and budget, cost estimates / planning Various program/section actions - UFRs, program build, expected accomplishments, metrics, etc. #MDFSP #AJCM

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least 15 years of systems engineering experience.
  • Experience working with mission product owners and other various customers to derive requirements.
  • Experience with Agile software development planning processes and tools, and with product backlog prioritization.
  • Experience with Jira and GitLab.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED plus 19 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
  • Experience with IC industry and customer, including mission domain experience in orchestration solutions.
  • Ability to work well with project leads, technical directors, and portfolio managers using modern communication methods.
  • Meeting facilitation skills for regular meetings between customers, development teams, and management to negotiate and adapt priorities and schedules.
  • Experience coordinating multiple team backlogs.

Responsibilities

  • Support a mission execution solutions team with numerous software development product teams.

  • Ensure ticketing systems (Jira and GitLab) stay in sync with the high-level Section or Division level Request/Requirement/Prioritization solution.
  • Create technical solutions and processes to drive a smooth, coordinated, and sustainable Request/Requirement/Prioritization approach.
  • Provide management level viability to priorities and team level planning.
  • Provide recommendations to advance architectures that host products.
  • Support Acquisition Review Boards (ARB) including planning, tracking, and reporting of requirements and metrics.
  • Support Monthly/Quarterly Program reviews by collecting and consolidating data and preparing briefing presentations.
  • Manage HW/SW life cycle refresh/expansion requirements, budget planning, and tracking.
  • Track spending and budget for eVo/C2S, and provide cost estimates/planning.
  • Support various program/section actions such as UFRs, program builds, expected accomplishments, and metrics.
