About The Position

TechInsights is seeking an experienced Agile Development Manager (ADM) to lead and optimize the performance of our software engineering and development teams. Reporting to the VP, Software Development, the ADM works in close collaboration with Software Architecture, Engineering, Design, and Implementation to ensure that software solutions are delivered on time, to specification, and within a healthy and high-performing team culture. At TechInsights, we believe that great software starts with great people and great processes. The ADM plays a central role in both, managing engineers, developers, and Scrum Masters, while driving continuous improvement across the full software development lifecycle. From sprint planning and dependency mitigation to KPI monitoring and retrospective action follow-through, this role demands an organized, data-driven leader who thrives in an Agile environment. You will foster a positive, productive work environment while championing innovation and technical excellence.

Requirements

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar Agile Development Manager role or managing people in a software development environment
  • Strong working knowledge of software concepts, applications, and hands-on development experience with modern programming languages
  • Experience with building technically integrated products, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and software architecture principles
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Experience with agile project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)
  • Proven ability to identify and mitigate inter-team dependencies in an Agile environment
  • Strong analytical thinking and data-driven decision making
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing concepts
  • Conflict resolution and change management abilities
  • Data-driven approach to performance management, with experience collecting and acting on team KPIs
  • Strong critical thinking skills; able to recognize underlying issues and implications of decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide, influence, and persuade stakeholders across levels
  • Comfort with and enthusiasm for AI tool adoption in day-to-day work

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced agile certifications (CSP, PSM II, SAFe) an asset
  • Experience in semiconductor, hardware, or technical industries an asset
  • Large-scale platform or enterprise software development background
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams and vendor partnerships

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach agile development teams in implementing Scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies
  • Invest in your team by championing AI adoption and supporting developers' continuing education and career growth
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Manage engineering processes ensuring timely, quality delivery within prescribed architecture
  • Participate in the refinement of epics and stories
  • Track and report on key metrics including velocity, cycle time, and team performance
  • Remove impediments and facilitate cross-team coordination
  • Mentor team members on best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives, cross-scrum feedback, and leading change initiatives in concert with peers
  • Interface with stakeholders to communicate project status, risks, and requirements
  • Stay current with agile methodologies and software development trends
