About The Position

The Aggregate Truck Scale Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of truck scales to weigh trucks transporting aggregates such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone. This role involves recording and maintaining accurate weight data and ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations. This involves communication and interface with all incoming and outgoing trucks (customers), and accurate logging of all relevant data to each truck entering and exiting Fort McDowell Yavapai Materials (FMYM) facilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Able to complete initial MSHA training
  • Must wear suitable work attire
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and are subject to random drug testing program
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computers and data entry
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a similar role or familiarity with aggregate operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and enter all pertinent information into the computerized aggregate dispatch program.
  • Weigh and record each customer, truck company, and truck number into the computerized scale program.
  • Record order information, including material type, quantity, destination, and billing data.
  • Maintain professional, courteous telephone and radio communication with customers and truck drivers.
  • Ensure dependable and on-schedule attendance.
  • Assist with daily operations as required by the supervisor.
  • Remain alert and communicate clearly with the loader operator any information that affects the loading process.
  • Abide by all policy standards written by FMYNE, including safety standards set by FMYN and MSHA.
