The work includes developing agent registries, delegated authorization models, runtime attribution, and policy engines, including solutions that may not yet exist as vendor products. The role may involve travel ranging from 0% to 100%, depending on business needs and client requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience building and shipping production software.

  • At least 2 years building concurrent or distributed systems that ran in production.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience deploying and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containers and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or at least 12 years of work experience. Applicants with an associate degree must have at least 6 years of work experience.
  • At least one production service or component owned end to end, covering design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, token exchange, SAML, SPIFFE, PKI, or mTLS.
  • Experience with MCP, agent frameworks, or LLM application development.
  • Experience in identity and access management, IGA, PAM, secrets management, or non-human identity.
  • Applied cryptography experience, including knowing the limits of one's expertise.
  • Participation in a production on-call rotation.
  • Judgment about when to use a library, vendor product, or build a solution in-house.
  • Comfort explaining designs to client engineers and defending design decisions.
  • Optional links to code, open-source contributions, or technical writeups; prose descriptions of NDA-protected work are also welcome and are not required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship services in the agentic identity stack, including authorization engines, agent registries, credential brokers, and authentication layers for MCP servers.
  • Own a component end to end, including design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing response to failures.
  • Reverse-engineer identity systems in client environments and design improved approaches.
  • Prototype against emerging standards and vendor betas, including where documentation may not yet exist.
  • Build internal tooling and reference implementations for reuse across the practice.
  • Explain designs to client engineers and address their challenges and objections.
