Agent Onboarding and Sales Specialist

IHC Specialty Benefits•Saint Louis Park, MN
•$26 - $39•Onsite

About The Position

Trove Group is seeking an Agent Onboarding Specialist to help newly affiliated licensed agents move from contracting to their first successful sales. The specialist serves as the agent’s primary point of contact during onboarding, coordinating with contracting, sales, and Workplace Growth Manager teams to keep each step moving. The role calls for an organized, responsive person who can follow up across teams, explain a complex process clearly, maintain accurate records, and surface delays before they affect a case. Success means new agents understand their next steps, complete required contracting and appointment processes, connect with a Workplace Growth Manager, and receive practical support through their first cases. Internal teams should have a reliable view of each agent’s status, with fewer opportunities stalling because of missed handoffs.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in insurance agency operations, agent onboarding, carrier contracting, sales support, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many agents at different stages of onboarding.
  • Clear, timely communication and a service mindset with agents and internal teams.
  • Comfort using CRM systems, shared trackers, and carrier or contracting portals.
  • Sound judgment about when to resolve an issue directly and when to involve contracting, sales leadership, or compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with health insurance distribution.
  • Experience with ACA and small group carrier appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Guide new licensed agents through Trove’s onboarding process, from initial paperwork and contracting through carrier appointments, training, and first cases.
  • Track each agent’s progress and confirm required steps are completed before the agent begins applicable sales activity.
  • Coordinate with the contracting team on Trove affiliation and appointment submissions for ACA and small group carriers; follow up on outstanding items and communicate status to agents and sales leaders.
  • Schedule platform access, introductory training, and meetings with Workplace Growth Managers so agents know where to find support and how to bring in opportunities.
  • Help agents prepare for their first cases by connecting them with the right people for quoting, product questions, enrollment support, and case submission.
  • Maintain clear onboarding records, next steps, and follow-up dates so agents and internal teams can see each agent’s status.
  • Stay in touch beyond the first sale to resolve onboarding issues, reinforce available resources, and support a smooth transition into ongoing agent service.
  • Identify recurring bottlenecks and recommend improvements to the onboarding process.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
