This role is based at our stores in Vancouver, Canada. The Agent/Investigator, Asset Protection is responsible for the execution of Asset Protection initiatives in assigned locations (5-10 stores) and the implementation of shortage reduction programs in high shrink location(s). This role provides in-person and remote support to local store management to meet strategic asset protection objectives. The position involves performing operational audits of store districts, focusing on sales floor fullness, stockroom organization, health and safety, human resources compliance, and customer service. There is routine monthly travel to Focus Stores to manage the program, ensure compliance, and follow up on sub-standard performers. The role also includes providing clear and consistent training to all store personnel on Asset Protection Initiatives, safety communication guidelines, and current crisis management protocols. A commitment to the highest degree of professionalism, integrity, and customer service is expected. The role requires completing AP and Physical Security audits routinely, and special projects as assigned by the Regional Manager of Asset Protection. Optimization of inventory accuracy through effective execution and management of physical inventories, store transfer monitoring, and OMNI compliance is key. The position facilitates supply chain investigations to positively impact inbound carton loss and forced carton compliance. Proactive monitoring of systems and conducting surveillance to identify and investigate associate dishonesty is also a responsibility. Internal investigations for inventory, cash loss, and policy violations are conducted, with case reports prepared covering investigation and case details. The role manages initial investigative processes for all internal investigations within assigned alignment and the District when applicable, and serves as a liaison between store/APA investigations and certified market interviewers. Support for investigations related to internal loss throughout the assigned region, while partnering with GHO Analysts, is required. Surveillance using CCTV and floor techniques to apprehend and deter theft in accordance with company apprehension policies is performed. Initiation and resolution of investigations related to Organized Retail Crime, while partnering with law enforcement and other retail organizations, is part of the role. The position represents the company in court proceedings related to investigations and maintains effective relationships with store leaders, peer retailers, mall security, and local law enforcement partners. Clear and consistent training is provided to all store personnel on safety communication guidelines, acts of violence, and current crisis management protocols. Analytics software is utilized to develop specific store loss prevention strategies. Participation in corporate operational test programs to gauge the viability of program evolution and providing relevant observational data to the Global Home Office to inform policy decisions is expected. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate execution of Store Programs and routinely providing relevant feedback to store leaders regarding operational efficiency. Effective identification and implementation of solutions to eliminate store margin erosion is a key function. Support for new stores through physical store visitation and pre-open audits to ensure smooth and timely openings is also required.
