About The Position

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Agency Management Analyst in our Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to: Supervises and oversees the staff and the daily workflow operation of the Sex Offender Registry (SOR). Effectively classifies offenders for inclusion on the Sex Offender Registry. Testifying in court as custodian of records. Training others in registry laws. Ensuring compliance with registry laws in ($§9.1-900-9.1-923) Code of Virginia.

Requirements

  • Supervisory principles and practice.
  • Data entry environment and records research.
  • Use of computers and using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Interpret and apply policy, procedures, regulations and the laws of operation.
  • Collect/analyze data.
  • Supervise the work of others.
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
  • Provide court testimony.
  • Make independent decisions.
  • Apply research and analytical methodology in the interpretation of criminal arrest and disposition information.
  • Compose correspondence.
  • Read, write and speak English.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, other CJIS units, court and legal representatives, law enforcement, non-criminal justice entities, state agencies, and the public.
  • Experience in office practices/procedures and progressively responsible experience in supervision.
  • Must be Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certified, which requires either United States citizenship or a lawful permanent resident of the United States and eligible for naturalization.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
