GRADE ASTD9 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH Spring Grove Hospital Center Catonsville, MD 21228 Main Purpose of Job In collaboration with the Director of Environment of Care, this full-time contractual position utilizes practical knowledge of fire prevention, health, & safety, applying all applicable codes, laws, and regulations, to provide a safe environment for all patients, staff, visitors, and tenants on the Spring Grove Hospital campus. This position receives general supervision, does not supervise and is emergency essential.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a State high school equivalency certificate.
  • Two years of experience in safety inspection, safety investigation, or fire prevention.
  • Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Employees in this classification must provide a telephone number where they can be reached.
  • Employees in this classification are subject to call-in twenty-four hours a day.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education at an accredited college or university with a concentration in fire protection/science or occupational health and safety technology may be substituted, on a year for year basis, up to two years of the required experience.
  • U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Occupational Health and Safety classifications or Occupational Health and Safety specialty codes in the Occupational Health and Safety field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
