GRADE ASTD9 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH Spring Grove Hospital Center Catonsville, MD 21228 Main Purpose of Job In collaboration with the Director of Environment of Care, this full-time contractual position utilizes practical knowledge of fire prevention, health, & safety, applying all applicable codes, laws, and regulations, to provide a safe environment for all patients, staff, visitors, and tenants on the Spring Grove Hospital campus. This position receives general supervision, does not supervise and is emergency essential.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a State high school equivalency certificate.
Two years of experience in safety inspection, safety investigation, or fire prevention.
Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
Employees in this classification must provide a telephone number where they can be reached.
Employees in this classification are subject to call-in twenty-four hours a day.

Nice To Haves

Additional education at an accredited college or university with a concentration in fire protection/science or occupational health and safety technology may be substituted, on a year for year basis, up to two years of the required experience.
U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Occupational Health and Safety classifications or Occupational Health and Safety specialty codes in the Occupational Health and Safety field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
