As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for assisting in the land application of Municipal biosolids during the months of April through November. Responsibilities include running agriculture equipment, pumps and industrial equipment such as a field tractor. As an AZ Operator, you will provide transportation services between customer sites in an acceptable and safe manner. Responsibilities include loading trucks and transporting biosolids.

Requirements

  • Must possess an AZ license and submit current abstracts, personal and CVOR (no demerits)
  • Must have solid written communication skills in order to complete required paperwork
  • Must have exceptional verbal communication skills to be able to interact with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and think proactively
  • Excellent customer service skills, with strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating a tanker is an asset
  • Knowledge of Reg. 347/558, WMHIS, MTO regulations
  • Knowledge of farming practices and the Nutrient Management Regulation
  • Willing to obtain required licensing
  • Three (3) years of driver/operator experience is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience operating heavy machinery typical within a mining environment, including farm in an agricultural environment is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate motorized vehicles to move material between client sites
  • Accurately complete numerous and various documents, including pre/post trip inspections, manifests, log books, VCRs, etc., in a legible manner to meet compliance requirements
  • Ensure that all equipment and systems are operated as per GFL standards
  • Drivers are required to adhere to all Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties assigned
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Spread materials
  • Operate tillage tools including tractors and the use of discs
  • Other duties as assigned
