About The Position

Perform the operation and basic maintenance of large agricultural equipment in all stages of biomass crop production. Assist in agronomic amendments of soil, pest control, and other land stewardship tasks. This role also involves the annual service of tractors and implements.

Requirements

• Willing to work a fluid time schedule associated with the seasonality of agriculture production.
• Working knowledge of modern agricultural equipment
• Experience with general computer/equipment interfaces and equipment operating software
• Good understanding of farm operations and growth cycle of crops
• High school diploma or equivalent, with good communication skills and ability to adapt to changing environments.
• Currently hold or willing to attain a Tennessee Department of Agriculture Private Applicators license.
• Currently hold a Commercial Driver’s License or have the ability to attain one.
• Ability to complete tasks unsupervised.
• Willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in agriculture or 2 years of experience in farm production or a similar field.
• Large Square Baler operation is a plus.
• Experience in or education with hydraulic machinery and/or diesel mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge, skills and abilities required for equipment operation and other processes assigned.
• Operate and maintain farming machinery such as tractors, balers, windrowers, and sprayers/spreaders.
• Assist in all aspects of crop production and field borders/entries maintenance within the region.
• Load and transport machinery and bales.
• Work within a team to complete tasks as weather permits to ensure timely field operations.
• Understand basic machinery maintenance and mechanical operation to limit down time and ensure safety of all involved.
