About The Position

The AG Lead plays a critical role in leading production teams, supporting process execution, and maintaining operational stability. This role is accountable for safety, quality, uptime, and production performance through leadership, technical awareness, and hands-on involvement. AG Leads are expected to operate equipment, perform routine troubleshooting and resets, and make real-time decisions within established operating parameters. The role requires judgment to determine when to independently act and when to escalate more complex issues. While not a fully qualified Plastic Technician, the AG Lead is expected to demonstrate independent capability in operating equipment and maintaining process stability within established limits. This role is expected to perform routine machine operations, adjustments, and resets, troubleshoot common process and equipment issues independently, take ownership of the press, process, and product within the assigned area, and make real-time operational decisions to support safe and efficient production. This role partners with Plastic Technicians, Maintenance, and Supervisors for complex troubleshooting and process optimization, major equipment issues or repairs, advanced technical decision-making outside established parameters, and training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily activities of production workers under the direction of supervisor
  • Act as the point of contact in the supervisor’s absence
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Support onboarding and training of new production employees
  • Monitor production performance and product quality to ensure compliance with standards
  • Identify, address, and escalate safety, quality, policy, and behavioral concerns as appropriate
  • Take immediate action to correct routine quality or process issues within defined scope
  • Recognize abnormal process conditions and respond appropriately through troubleshooting or escalation
  • Reinforce adherence to work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety standards.
  • Monitor and maintain stable process conditions to support safe and efficient production
  • Perform routine machine operation, adjustments, and resets within established parameters
  • Troubleshoot common equipment and process issues independently using established guidelines
  • Identify process deviations and take appropriate corrective action to maintain production flow
  • Partner with Plastic Technicians and Maintenance to resolve complex technical issues
  • Demonstrate ownership of press performance, product quality, and process consistency
  • Maintain production records and communicate operational updates
  • Coordinate with support functions to ensure material and resource availability
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to improve efficiency and performance
