The Afternoon Cook Assistant is responsible for establishing positive guest relations through excellent kitchen service. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a flexible schedule that includes weekends. The assistant will support the cook as needed, handle dishwashing, clean the kitchen after meals, and close the kitchen at the end of their shift. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with some kitchen experience. First Aid/CPR certification or the willingness to obtain it, and a current California food handler's permit are also preferred. The position requires upholding the mission, vision, and core values of Forest Home, maintaining a professional attitude, and actively participating in staff spiritual life activities. Flexibility, self-starting initiative, excellent people service skills, integrity, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in team environments are essential. A servant heart and Christ-like attitude are highly valued.
