About The Position

New York Preschool & Kids Club is seeking a high-energy Enrichment Teacher to provide New York City’s 0 to 6-year-olds with a foundation for lifelong learning through their incredible enrichment classes. In this role, the teacher will act as an athlete, scientist, and performer, seamlessly transitioning between spotting a gymnast, leading a science experiment, or coaching a parent and toddler. The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller with a flair for the dramatic and a passion for early childhood development, aiming to make every lesson a core memory and ensure young learners feel confident, inspired, and excited to explore the world.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2+ years of formal teaching experience in early childhood (ages 0-6).
  • Pass physical exam and background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood (or currently studying).
  • Camp, pre-k, after-school, and other enrichment experiences.
  • Experience teaching music, dance, gymnastics, or yoga.
  • Be a passionate teacher and lifelong learner!

Responsibilities

  • Lead and co-lead a dynamic range of classes for children ages 0 to 6, pivoting between diverse classes and age groups.
  • Use structured and unstructured play, art, music, gymnastics, and STEM to build a child’s confidence and coordination, curating a "safe to fail" environment.
  • Tackle daily operations with a "ready-for-anything" attitude, including resetting gym circuits, organizing classrooms, and assisting teammates.
  • Build trust with parents and caregivers through daily updates, sharing successes and challenges, and bridging the gap between school and home.
  • Ensure a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Anticipate classroom needs and prepare resources in advance.
  • Execute smooth, efficient transitions between classes and activities.
  • Cultivate trust-based relationships with students, families, and the internal team.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with all Department of Health compliance requirements.
