The SCBCS aftercare assistant provides quality supervision for students participating in the program. Potential candidates should enjoy working with children, spending time outdoors, on crafts, monitoring homework time, and interacting with students in 1st through 8th grades. The Diocese of Orlando four core values lay the foundation for the work performed by employees: Authenticity, Respect, Courage, and Commitment. Provides after-school supervision for students. Checks students in and signs them out to approved adults. Observes, monitors, and participate in children’s play activities whether small group or whole group. Provides supervised playtime outside (weather permitting) to provide a safe and positive environment. Fosters and supports the student’s spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Efficiently redirects inappropriate student behaviors and implements the program discipline system to effectively monitor and guide proper student behavior. Communicates with the supervisor as well as parents regarding any problems that may arise during after-school care hours. Reports any problems to the supervisor and/or principal. Hours for position vary, but usually include weekday afternoons and extended summer hours.
