About The Position

The Aftercare Aide supports the school's aftercare program by providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered environment for students after the regular school day. This position supervises students, assists with homework, leads recreational and enrichment activities, promotes positive behavior, and helps ensure the well-being of all children in the program while supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to supervise and engage children in a positive manner.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Dependable, organized, and responsible.
Supportive of the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
Criminal background check.
Family Care Safety Registration.
Drug screen.
Employment and educational licensure/certification verification.
Health screening.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or recreational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise students during aftercare activities, homework time, snack periods, and recreation.
Ensure the safety, well-being, and appropriate behavior of all students.
Assist with planning and leading age-appropriate games, activities, and enrichment opportunities.
Support students with homework and study habits.
Monitor student attendance and assist with sign-in and sign-out procedures.
Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and school staff.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe aftercare environment.
Report accidents, incidents, or concerns to the Aftercare Coordinator or Principal.
Work collaboratively with aftercare staff to provide quality care and supervision.
