About The Position

The After School Youth Program Education Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive year-round educational program that meets the varying educational needs of our members. This program should be fluid and flexible, providing enriching and evidence-based learning opportunities for Club members. This is a part-time position working 20 hours a week, Monday through Friday, in the afternoon and evening.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to plan, conduct, and supervise educational programs and services.
Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 6-18.
Ability to communicate courteously and professionally with a range of organizational personnel.
Must be highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
A four-year degree from a state-accredited university or college is mandatory.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of two years of experience in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive year-round educational program.
Provide enriching and evidence-based learning opportunities for Club members.
Compile resources, information, and data to address current and future trends impacting the educational needs of youth.
Conduct BGCA POWER Hour program, providing homework assistance and educational support.
Collect report cards and track required data for grant and program purposes.
Analyze report card data and develop solutions to address educational trends.
Develop and implement opportunities for members with average or below-average grades, as well as high achievers.
Develop and maintain relationships with school officials and communicate about Club members' progress.
Develop and cultivate relationships with community organizations and resources to support the Education program.
Visit and provide support for Club members during school sessions to assist them in achieving academic goals.
Plan and conduct events that promote academic enrichment and recognition.
Develop opportunities to involve Club parents/guardians in the Education program and their children's educational needs.
Recruit and manage volunteers for the Education program.
Create and implement an 8-week summer educational program.
Operate all programs within the policies, procedures, and operational hours established by Madison.
