About The Position

The After School Youth Program Education Director (021) will be responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, evaluating, and facilitating departmental programs, activities and events and providing individual guidance and referrals as needed. This is a full-time position working 35 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening. The role ensures the delivery of all programs in the Academic Success priority outcome area, maintains a healthy and safe environment, and creates an up-to-date learning environment for all members, meeting standards set by Madison and BGCA for graduation and education initiatives.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree from a state-accredited university or college is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, conduct and supervise educational programs and services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 6-18 as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must be highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, conducting, evaluating, and facilitating departmental programs, activities and events.
  • Providing individual guidance and referrals as needed.
  • Recruiting and engaging members of all ages and genders for Education programs.
  • Assisting in the recruiting and training of departmental staff.
  • Supervising and evaluating assigned staff members.
  • Delivering fun and engaging programming for boys and girls, ages 6-18.
  • Ensuring the delivery of all programs in the Academic Success priority outcome area.
  • Ensuring a healthy, safe environment in program areas.
  • Planning and conducting staff meetings and Family Workshops.
  • Conducting periodic inventory of departmental equipment.
  • Recommending the acquisition of necessary materials and resources to support programs and ordering required materials.
  • Maintaining the Education Department budget.
  • Participating in organizational meetings and conferences as requested.
  • Ensuring thorough evaluation for all departmental programs and services.
  • Submitting all required reports.
  • Initiating and maintaining community contacts with families, schools and other organizations and institutions to enhance programs and services.
  • Creating the most up to date learning environment for all members.
  • Meeting the standards and goals established by both Madison and BGCA for graduation and education initiatives.
