About The Position
This position is responsible for supervising children, implementing activities, maintaining the classroom environment, ensuring children's safety, and establishing a positive environment for children and families. The role also involves providing transportation for children to and from activities, including after-school pick-up.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED AND One year experience teaching school aged basic academics OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- 45-hour DCF required school age training.
- Level 2 background screening.
Responsibilities
- Assists, instructs, and evaluates children in the academic areas in which they are weak so they may better understand and perform the skills in those areas.
- Conducts individual and group tutoring sessions with students.
- Prepares various reports documenting the student’s progress and shares the same with parents and others as necessary.
- Supervises children in the playground and plans activities the children can enjoy while outdoors.
- Plans and coordinates sports activities as well as arts and crafts.
- Provides transportation for children to and from activities, including after-school pick-up.
