About The Position

Wonder Academy is seeking an experienced part-time or full-time School Age (6-12 years-old) Teacher for their creative arts preschool in the Indian Trail, NC area. This role involves supervising and guiding children during after-school activities, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting student well-being. The position offers flexible part-time hours, Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM-6:00 PM, with potential for full-time summer employment based on performance and interest. The role also includes working 8:30 AM-5:30 PM on UCPS Teacher Work Days.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain North Carolina Child Care Criminal Qualifying Letter.
• Present a TB Screening/Test and Health Assessment.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage groups of children effectively.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
• Teaching certification or relevant licensure (if applicable).
• Familiarity with modern educational tools and resources.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Ability to tailor lesson plans for students ages 5 years-old to 12 years-old.
• Creativity in curriculum design and lesson delivery.
