About The Position

This position involves teaching an after-school program for 1 hour per day, 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday) for up to 110 days. The program dates are from September 8, 2026, to June 9, 2027. This role is not benefits-eligible and will be paid via timesheet at a per diem rate. The application deadline is open until filled.

Requirements

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate.
• Knowledge of current trends in curriculum, instruction and technology.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and implement instructional programs to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Demonstrated evidence of classroom management skills to provide a productive learning environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
• Experience at the secondary level preferred.
• Knowledge/experience with new state assessment requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with administration and staff to develop and implement instructional programs and activities.
• Effectively teach the approved curriculum using appropriate instructional methods and materials to meet district objectives for student learning.
• Effectively communicate learning progress with students and parents.
• Participate in and/or direct extra-curricular programs, activities, meetings, and conferences as required.
• Maintain required reports and records.
• Direct activities of non-certificated personnel, if required.
• Establish and maintain appropriate standards for classroom behavior to provide a supportive and productive learning environment.
