About The Position

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of: AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM EXTENDED LEARNING TIME GRADES K- 12 T EACHERS This application is for teachers to work the after-school program outside of their assigned school Location, dates, and times: Determined upon needs and qualifications, and school day assignment Candidates should apply internally at their assigned school first Teachers are only eligible for openings that do not interfere with school day assignment

Requirements

• Candidates must hold a valid NYS teaching certification in: General Education, ENL, Special Education or content area and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher.
• Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum and district resources to provide academic and enrichment opportunities for students.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in Grades K – 12 per the school's after school program design
• Teacher assignments are based upon qualifications, certifications, and training
• Instructing students on grade-level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches, and working with students in need of academic support
• Homework support
• Qualified teachers can be assigned to teach/support programs and enrichment courses as needed, such as: Connexus online coursework CLRI programs such as My Brothers Keeper and My Sisters Keeper Specialty enrichment program
• Other responsibilities as determined necessary by the building administration
