After-School Program Associate
About The Position
As a BrightBee After School Program Associate, you will support students in local schools, helping them learn, grow, and succeed. Your day will involve welcoming students into a safe and supportive space after school, supervising activities, and assisting with homework. You will lead group activities, provide support to students, and ensure adherence to program rules, creating a positive environment for children to thrive. Additionally, you will communicate with parents and teachers, maintain attendance and behavior records, and make each afternoon productive for the students.
Requirements
- 48 college credits or passing parapro score
- Experience working with students or in education
- Pass a background check
- Follow safety and reporting guidelines
- Complete required school clearances
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and lead engaging group activities, ranging from structured physical education and team-building games to creative arts and STEM projects.
- Provide dedicated homework assistance and small-group tutoring.
- Maintain active supervision of students during transitions, snack time, and recreational periods.
- Assist with daily operations, including taking attendance, preparing activity materials, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Serve as a point of contact for parents during pick-up, providing brief, professional updates on student progress or behavior.
