About The Position

Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region as a part-time After School Program Assistant and spend your afternoons helping kids learn, grow, and have fun in a safe, supportive environment. This role is ideal for individuals studying education, psychology, social work, human development, or those who simply enjoy working with children. Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Dependable and ready to take initiative
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and emotional regulation when supporting youth experiencing behavioral challenges
• Can stay organized in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children (3+ months preferred)
• Experience leading or supervising groups
• An interest in Education, Child Psychology, Human Development, Social Work, or related fields
• Bilingual skills that support communication with youth and families

Responsibilities

• Lead fun games, activities, and enrichment programs
• Help students with homework and academic success
• Encourage positive behavior and build meaningful relationships
• Supervise groups of approximately 10-15 youth
• Keep attendance and behavior records and communicate with teammates and Site Manager
• Set up, organize, and clean activity areas before and after sessions
• Pitch in wherever needed, including supporting other Club or school sites, to help create a positive experience for our members.
