About The Position
This position leads and assists enrichment activities for students, including academic assistance, team sports, arts and crafts, and group games. The role supports students’ safe and active participation and promotes academic success, good character, citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. The program takes place at the Montrose Field House, Pomona Elementary, and Johnson Elementary, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The position may involve transporting participants from schools to the program site in MRD vehicles and performing additional duties for special events.
Requirements
- Possess or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of experience in an elementary education or childcare setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and assist students in safely and actively participating in a wide variety of enrichment activities.
- Exercise authority in problematic situations with children, using guidance and disciplinary procedures as directed by the Site Leader.
- Promote academic success, good character, citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
- Plan and facilitate activities for program participants.
- Participate in staff meetings and training as needed or required.
- May be trained to perform additional duties on different days for special events.
- May be required to transport participants from schools to the program site via MRD vehicles.
