After School Math Tutors
About The Position
This position involves providing after-school math tutoring to students at Thompson Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. Tutors will connect with assigned students, collaborate with teaching staff on assignments and content, and develop plans to help students complete work and understand math concepts. Progress tracking and reporting to various school personnel, including teaching staff, the Guidance Counselor, and the MTSS Coordinator, are key components of the role. Tutors are also expected to attend three after-school meetings and perform other duties as assigned by TMS Administration.
Requirements
- Present employment at Thompson Middle School
- Availability to tutor after school hours
- Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities listed below as evidenced by previous experience and the interview process.

- Math certification or ability to support math instruction preferred.
Responsibilities
- Regularly connects with students (via phone or meet) who are assigned to them.
- Collaborate with Teaching Staff on assignments and content to be facilitated with students during the Tutor session.
- Create plans and strategic approaches with students to complete assignments and understand content.
- Track student progress with work completion.
- Report student progress to supporting teaching staff.
- Report student progress to the Guidance Counselor and cluster.
- Report student progress to MTSS Coordinator.
- Attend three after school meetings: TBD TBD TBD.
- Performs any other duties stipulated by the TMS Administration.
