After School Instructor
About The Position
We are looking for experienced and passionate academic after-school class instructors who will deliver a comprehensive Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program at elementary and middle school sites. You’ll engage students with hands-on activities that promote self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making, all while integrating literacy and fostering an inclusive environment. Requirements
- Associate Degree or completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching a class of 20 students
- Reliable transportation- the ability to arrive at work on time
- Fun, upbeat personality with strong interpersonal skills and passion for teaching and learning.
- Impeccable time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with students who learn differently, including those with ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)/mild, and gifted learners
- Patience and empathy to support students facing various academic and personal challenges.
- Respect for students' cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment
- Must pass a background check
- CPR and First Aid Certificates
- Mandated Reporting Certificate
- Excellent references.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- experience working with neurodiverse students is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to various academic levels.
- Establish and achieve academic and social-emotional goals with students.
- Document progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
- Maintain a supportive and motivating learning environment.
- Keep the classroom/ work area organized and clean.
