About The Position
We are seeking enthusiastic and engaging After School Instructors to lead our Cooking and Nutrition & STEAM programs for K-5th grade students. Instructors will be responsible for teaching classes in Cooking & Nutrition, 3D Printing, and Virtual Reality. This role involves working at sites in Wyoming, MI and Grandville, MI, with class times from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Compensation is $55 per hour of class.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a K-5th grade setting.
- Knowledge and passion for Cooking & Nutrition and STEAM subjects.
- Ability to manage a classroom and engage young learners.
- Reliable transportation to sites in Wyoming, MI and Grandville, MI.
- Availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching specific STEAM subjects like 3D Printing or Virtual Reality.
- Background in culinary arts or nutrition.
- Previous experience as an after-school instructor.
Responsibilities
- Lead and instruct students in Cooking & Nutrition, 3D Printing, and Virtual Reality programs.
- Manage classroom activities and ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of K-5th grade students.
- Communicate with program coordinators regarding class progress and any issues that arise.
- Prepare materials and set up the classroom for each session.
