About The Position
We are seeking an After School Instructor to lead our Speech & Debate program for 2nd - 4th graders. This role involves teaching students the fundamentals of speech and debate in an engaging and supportive environment. The program runs on Wednesdays from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, with specific class dates from November 4th to December 16th.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a school or after-school setting.
- Knowledge of Speech and Debate principles and techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom of elementary school students.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be available on Wednesdays from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM for the specified class dates.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience teaching Speech & Debate.
- Experience with curriculum development.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Lead and instruct students in Speech & Debate.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for 2nd - 4th graders.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Communicate with program coordinators regarding student progress and any issues.
- Prepare materials and set up the classroom for each session.
