At Montessori Academy of Colorado (MAC), we are committed to nurturing the whole child, fostering independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. We believe that every child is naturally curious, and our role is to provide a prepared environment where they can explore and grow at their own pace. MAC is seeking a passionate and energetic individual to join our after-school program, offering enriching and inspiring activities for our Primary (2.5-6 years) through Elementary and Middle School communities. If you are enthusiastic about working with young children and are eager to share your skills in a way that aligns with Montessori principles—encouraging hands-on learning, independence, and respect for each child’s unique development—we would love to have you join our team. Requirements
- Experience working with young children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Passionate about working with children and committed to their growth and development.
- Creative and enthusiastic about bringing new and exciting activities to the program.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children and adults alike.
Nice To Haves
- Education and/or background in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
- Teaching license is a plus.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where children are free to explore and engage deeply with materials that inspire learning and participation.
- Adapt activity to honor the developmental stages and individual needs of children aged 5 to 12 years, ensuring activities are age-appropriate.
- Foster positive relationships and open communication with children and MAC staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized activity space, ensuring all materials are safe and in good condition.
- Plan, organize, and lead an engaging after-school enrichment activity tailored to young children, such as yoga, art, STEM, music, dance, language, storytelling, or any other creative activities. We encourage enrichment activities to invite curiosity, creativity, and independent exploration.
Benefits
- Part-time, temporary, and substitute employees will also accrue PTO during the school year at a rate of 1 hour of PTO per every 30 hours actually worked.
