About The Position

The After School Dance Teacher will teach dance classes to elementary school children in Grades K–3 at schools across the Bay Area. This part-time, in-person role includes managing classes of 8–16 students, ages 5–10, teaching different forms of dance, and maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment. Classes are 1–1.5 hours long, start between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays, and require availability for two or more days per week, for a maximum of 2–5 hours per week. Candidates must live locally and be able to work in person. The employer does not provide visa assistance; applicants must be local to the US or already have the necessary work visa.

Requirements

• Be at least 19 years old at the time of application.
• Enjoy working with children and have effective classroom management skills.
• Be flexible, reliable, punctual, and professional, with an enthusiastic approach.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have a resilient, positive attitude.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Have a car and a valid driver's license for work use.
• Be willing to complete a live scan background check and TB test before starting work.
• Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Submit a photo and short biography for the employer's website and introduce relevant experience in sports.
• Live locally and be available for in-person work.
• Be local to the US or already have the necessary work visa; the employer does not provide visa assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching or playing experience in pickleball or tennis is preferred but not required.
• USPTA or PTR certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage classes of 8–16 students ages 5–10.
• Teach different forms of dance to elementary school children.
• Attend up to two days of unpaid training or shadowing to become familiar with the program.
• Transport equipment when needed and set up for each class.
• Take attendance and sign students in and out.
• Interact with parents and school office staff as needed.
• Provide feedback for each student by the end of the session.
• Capture a few pictures of children in action during each session.
