About The Position

Discover After School, founded in 2019, is dedicated to empowering children through after-school STEAM exploration. We offer before- and after-school programs, seasonal camps, training, and community events, aiming to spark creativity and innovation in young minds. Our vision is to expand our impact through preschools and community partnerships, painting a world of possibilities for the next generation via STEAM.

Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma.
• Satisfactory Criminal Background Screening & Drug Screening.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (Must be completed within 30 days of employment)
• Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills in English is required.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, patient, responsible, and dedicated to enhancing program performance and impact.
• Strong communication skills for interactions with children and administration.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities for daily challenges.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual, with proficiency in both English and Spanish is a plus.
• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Experience with Children: 1 year (Preferred)
• First Aid Certification (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to all students, families, co-workers, and school administration.
• Meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the children in their care.
• Work in a team environment; build and maintain healthy, cooperative relationships.
• Communicate positively and effectively with the Site Director.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures both organizationally and departmentally to ensure the safety of children, parents, and staff.
• Model positive behavior and educate children in a manner which contributes to mature and responsible behavior.
• Complete all Discover After School and governmentally required training in the required time frame.
• Implement the curriculum and schedule provided on a daily basis and provide feedback to such on a weekly basis.
