About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is hiring several responsible and enthusiastic FAU undergraduate students to serve as After School Counselors at A.D. Henderson School in Boca Raton. Counselors support students in grades K–8 during after-school hours by supervising assigned students in classroom and play settings, leading creative and physical activities, assisting with homework, and helping provide a safe, engaging, nurturing, and enjoyable experience. The position is part-time and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is expected to start in January 2027 and pays $15.00 per hour.

Final candidates must arrange for official, sealed transcripts and an original NACES evaluation, if applicable, to be sent from their educational institution to Human Resources before starting employment. Selected candidates must pass all required pre-employment screenings, which may include criminal background checks (level I and level II), a motor vehicle check, credit check, reference checks, and alcohol and drug screening.

Requirements

• Be an FAU degree-seeking undergraduate student.
• Have a minimum of six credit hours, or twelve credit hours if an international student.
• Have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
• Submit a resume.
• Final candidates must provide official, sealed transcripts and an original NACES evaluation, if applicable, before starting employment.
• Selected candidates must successfully complete and pass all required employment screenings before starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision in play areas and classroom settings to ensure the safety and security of students enrolled in the Henderson after School Program.
• Plan engaging art and other related activities for students.
• Organize and supervise sports and physical activities.
• Assist students with homework assignments.
• Provide a safe and fun after-school experience.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
