About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to join our team as an afterschool care teacher at Midland Christian School. This position plays a crucial role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for students after regular school hours. As an afterschool care worker, you will support our school’s mission by fostering an atmosphere that reflects Christian values and principles.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience working in a leadership role within an educational or childcare setting.
• Strong understanding of Christian principles and a commitment to integrating them into program activities and interactions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times during afterschool hours.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
• Assist students with completing homework assignments and provide academic support when needed.
• Oversee snack time and ensure snacks provided align with school policies, which may include considerations for allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents, teachers, and school administration regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
• Integrate Christian values into daily activities and interactions with students, promoting spiritual growth and character development.
• Ensure that the afterschool care area is kept clean, organized, and safe at all times.
