About The Position

The After School Care Program Assistant at St. Mary Catholic School will serve as a role model to participants, ensuring their safety and creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment. This role involves planning activities for children of all ages, interacting positively with children and their families, and working both independently and as part of a team. The position is part-time and benefit ineligible, available for the 2026-2027 school year.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
• Protecting God's Children Certificate and Background Check required.

Nice To Haves

• A background in education and/or college course(s) in recreation education is a plus but not required.
• Childcare work experience with children of all ages preferred but not required.
• Other training may be required after employment begins.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring safety of all children in the program
• Signing children upon arrival and out when they leave
• Creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment
• Planning activities for children of all ages
• Interacting positively with children and their families
• Working independently as well as with a team
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal or pastor.
