About The Position

The After School Care Director is responsible for leading and managing the after school care program, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for all participating students. Reporting to the Dean of Operations, the Director oversees program staff, daily operations, student supervision, and family communication. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and the ability to build a positive, well-managed program that supports students academically and socially beyond the school day.

Requirements

High school diploma required
2+ years of experience working with children (school, childcare, camps, etc.)
Alignment with SMART Management & BridgePrep Academy’s mission and values
Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of the after school program, including scheduling, activities, and daily operations.
Supervise, train, and support staff to ensure consistent expectations and performance.
Ensure adequate staffing and coverage at all times.
Ensure all students are supervised at all times in a safe and secure environment.
Enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and incident reporting.
Address student behavior concerns and escalate when necessary.
Ensure students are engaged in meaningful, structured activities daily.
Build a positive, inclusive, and respectful program culture.
Continuously improve program quality based on feedback and observations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding the after school program.
Communicate program expectations, updates, and student concerns professionally.
Ensure a smooth, safe, and organized dismissal process for families.
Maintain strong family satisfaction and engagement.
