The After School Care Assistant Teacher will help support the day-to-day operations of the after-school program including activities, arts and crafts, games, educational programs, and homework. Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must pass reference checks and background screenings, which include fingerprint check.
Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Excellent communication skills.
CPR/First Aid certification (must obtain within 30 days of hire if not currently certified).
Willingness to be trained in bussing.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

Helps with the daily operations of the after-school program.
Assists with activities such as homework, games, arts and crafts, and educational programs.
Enforces all YMCA childcare rules and regulations and ensures safety in the facilities.
Greets new arrivals and introduces them to other children.
Reports camper complaints to leadership and helps to resolve the issues.
Supervises and interacts with children.
Assists in organization of age-appropriate activities.
Other duties as assigned.
