About The Position

Join our Adventure Zone (school age) after care program! We are looking for part-time staff to work with our after school program for the 2026-2027 school year. Hours will vary based on the school year calendar, M-F 2:45-5:30PM (every Wednesday there is early dismissal and your hours will be 2:15-5:30pm). The position is located inside Leigh Elementary school.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age and at least five years older than the oldest child within the assigned group.
Emotional maturity when working with children.
Respect for children and adults.
Physical and mental health that do not interfere with child care responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Meets and greets children for our after school program.
Sign in children once they arrive to you and make sure parents are signing their children out.
Relocates the after school children to their correct location (follows rotation).
Help with homework and any other school projects.
Set up and interact with games and activities.
Provides a safe and healthy environment for our after school children.
Ensures the children are under proper supervision at all times.
Relates warmly to all children in a positive manner.
Listens with respect to what they say, making children feel welcome and interacting with them in all activities provided.
Responds appropriately to the individual needs of the children, recognizes special interests and talents, relates to home cultures and responds proactively to the range of feeling and temperaments.
Encourages children to make choices and become more responsible.
Interacts with children to help them learn.
Uses positive techniques to guide the behavior of children.
Interacts with families in a positive manner.
