About The Position

Marsden Services, L.L.C. is seeking an After Hours Maintenance Technician to join their team in the Twin Cities Area. This part-time role involves performing a variety of maintenance duties to ensure properties meet company standards and legal requirements. The technician will be responsible for equipment installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance, with a focus on HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, appliances, and windows. The position also includes preparing vacant units, collaborating with vendors, maintaining inventory, and providing on-call emergency maintenance services. Training and mentorship opportunities are available, and adherence to safety protocols is paramount.

Requirements

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including frequent kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and moving.
Regular lifting of more than 20 lbs. and frequent lifting of up to 80 lbs. with assistance.
Ability to work in environments that may include heights, ladders, uneven walking surfaces, stairs, confined spaces, dust, gas fumes, and noise.
Exposure to external weather conditions, drafts, and interior temperature changes.
Ability to handle supplies and tools with sharp edges.
Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building, including climbing stairs and walking hallways and common areas.
High school graduate or equivalent.
2-year Technical Degree or equivalent work experience.
Intermediate computer skills (email, internet-based time entry, Microsoft Office Suite including Excel).
Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
Good interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's license.
Access to reliable transportation.
Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and a clear, courteous manner when dealing with co-workers and the public.
Decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously with self-direction.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Must be able to work on call.
Must be available for overtime as needed.

Must provide own hand tools: Hammer, Screwdriver (Phillips and Slotted), Crescent Wrench, Channellock Pliers, Pipe Wrench, Allen Wrench, Utility Knife, Flashlight, Hacksaw, Nut Drive Set, ¼” Socket Set, Set of Star Bits, Wire Stripper, Torpedo level, Inspection Mirror, Cordless drill, Tape Measure, GFI Receptacle Tester, Handheld Infrared/Laser Thermometer, Basic Multimeter.

Responsibilities

Performing equipment installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
Ensuring the property and grounds meet company standards and applicable laws.
Scheduling, prioritizing, and ensuring timely completion of work orders (within 48 hours).
Completing basic repairs related to HVAC, electrical work, carpentry, fixtures, plumbing, appliances, and windows.
Assisting in prioritizing work orders and monitoring the maintenance of buildings and equipment.
Performing all site-level preventative maintenance inspections and duties.
Preparing vacant units as assigned.
Working collaboratively with vendor teams on maintenance projects.
Maintaining an adequate inventory of hand tools, parts, and supplies.
Maintaining a positive, respectful, and professional manner with residents, vendors, employees, and the public.
Providing on-call emergency maintenance services as scheduled.
Assisting in training and mentoring new maintenance technicians.
Attending relevant training courses and ensuring certifications are current.
Complying with all company and customer safety program requirements and promoting safety in the workplace.
