About The Position

This is a part-time, PRN (as needed) position for an After Hours Hospice Nurse serving the Sheboygan/Manitowoc Area. The role involves working two shifts per month, including one weekday and one weekend shift, with options for 8- or 12-hour shifts. The nurse will be responsible for providing care during after-hours periods, including evenings and nights, and will have one holiday commitment per year. The service area includes specific towns within Wisconsin. The position offers a pay range of $35.50 - $53.25.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • 1 year of medical nursing experience with various age groups.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Computer skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with patient care equipment
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts in order to accommodate staffing
  • Ability to take “on call” assignments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work within short timeframes.
  • Ability to transport objects and equipment
  • Ability to respond quickly to patient needs and work at fast pace
  • Routinely works with potentially infectious specimens and patients
  • Ability to respond to patients in a timely manner
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
  • Must be able to travel to all areas within the Advocate service area in all extremes of weather on all types of roads.
  • Must be able to assist with ambulation including turning and transferring patients up to 200 pounds
  • Nurse, Registered (RN)
  • Current CPR
  • A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
