We are seeking a AFSIM Developer to support our customer’s digital wargaming, mission engineering, and force design efforts. You will use the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) to turn operational questions into executable simulations. Working with end users, analysts, and engineers, you will deliver reusable software and credible models that help evaluate emerging capabilities and inform decisions about the future force.

Requirements

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, plus 5+ years of relevant software development experience
• 1+ years of hands-on AFSIM development, including scenarios, model integration, or framework extensions
• 3+ years of modern C++ development, with object-oriented design and debugging skills sufficient to build simulation plugins
• Experience using Python for automation or data processing, and Git or a comparable version control system
• Ability to test simulation behavior, diagnose software defects, and explain model assumptions and results to technical and operational audiences

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting Marine Corps, Navy, or joint wargaming, mission engineering, campaign analysis, or force design.
• Familiarity with AFSIM scripting and tools such as Wizard and Mystic, or integration with STK or MATLAB.
• Knowledge of military operational concepts, mission threads, and interactions across land, maritime, air, space, and cyber domains.
• Experience representing electronic warfare, contested communications, or space capabilities in simulations.
• Experience with additional simulation environments such as NGTS or OneSAF, and with simulation interoperability or model orchestration.
• Experience with Agile development, automated build and test workflows, and configuration management for analytical software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain AFSIM scenarios, models, and C++ plugins for mission-level analysis and wargaming.
• Translate operational concepts into platform behaviors, sensors, communications, and mission interactions, with documented assumptions and limitations.
• Connect simulation components and data sources; test interoperability within the broader wargaming environment.
• Verify and validate models against reference data and expert review; investigate discrepancies and improve execution performance.
• Automate simulation runs and output processing with Python; produce repeatable metrics for capability comparisons.
• Use version control, code reviews, and regression tests to maintain reliable releases and reusable model libraries.
• Partner with Government stakeholders to plan development, support wargame execution, and document technical results and user guidance.
