Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline) or relevant experience
  • 5+ years of rigorous hands-on health care data analytics experience using SQL
  • 3+ years in statistical modeling, machine learning, or large data analysis using Python
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare analytics using claims or electronic health records
  • Experience managing Git repositories
  • Proven exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a solid ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and technical concepts to diverse audiences

Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of healthcare as a business to uncover and translate total cost of care management opportunities into measurable metrics, hypotheses, and analytic plans (baseline, benchmarks, segmentation, drivers, intervention sizing)
  • Maintain and evolve Snowflake SQL semantic layer to measure drivers of healthcare utilization and cost, and uncover variations in care patterns
  • Expand scope of analytics by using techniques like clustering, anomaly detection, and propensity score matching, to better understand areas of opportunity to improve patient care while avoiding unnecessary use of resources
  • Develop a deep understanding of affordability strategies in healthcare by engaging with clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Have a growth mindset to create strategic and scalable solutions, while addressing tactical considerations
  • Contribute to development of financial models, including cost benefit analysis, to estimate potential opportunities and measure expected ROI
  • Ensure methodologies used to model affordability impact are consistent, statistically sound, and transparent, building trust and credibility with regional and enterprise partners
  • Proactively identify data issues and hold data providers accountable for timely resolution
