About The Position

This is an applicant pool for affiliate faculty in Computer and Electrical Engineering. Screening of applicants will occur when positions become available. These are temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions, and the number varies each semester based on program needs. Not all applicants will be contacted or selected to teach. The Department of Engineering and Engineering Technology at MSU Denver offers undergraduate degrees designed to prepare students for real-world challenges. The department has dedicated faculty who challenge and support students, equipping them with strong math, science, analysis, and problem-solving skills. The position involves teaching assigned classes, preparing course materials, grading, providing feedback, addressing student questions, and offering academic support. Adaptability to new instruction modes and sensitivity to a diverse student population are encouraged.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or Engineering related field
  • Four years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or Engineering related field, plus four years of relevant experience or Doctorate

Responsibilities

  • Teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students
  • Preparing course materials and lesson plans
  • Grading student work
  • Providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner
  • Addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies
  • Providing online or in person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment
  • Providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies
  • Complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies
