About The Position
MetalQuest is hiring an Aerospace & Space Applications Engineer to support its growing space development program. The role works hands-on with high-precision CNC machining and quality requirements, helping bring aerospace and space components from concept to production. The engineer will collaborate with aerospace and space industry customers, machinists, team members, and engineering staff to assess manufacturability, support new parts and product launches, address non-conforming products, and improve processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of various machining techniques and tooling.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to provide leadership and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- For ITAR compliance, employees at this location must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine manufacturability, tolerances, materials, and special requirements for space-bound components.
- Assist CNC machinists with onboarding new parts and projects.
- Assist in evaluating and reworking non-conforming product.
- Inspect machined parts to verify conformance to customer requirements and quality standards.
- Support first-article and new-product launches and ensure processes are ready for production.
- Collaborate with team members and engineering staff to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
