About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Engineer / CMM Programmer to support quality assurance and inspection activities within a precision aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing CMM programs using CAMIO software, performing First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards, and ensuring compliance with aerospace quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GD&T, precision measurement, and aerospace quality systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aerospace quality engineering, quality inspection, or metrology.
  • Hands-on experience programming CMMs using CAMIO software.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and preparing AS9102 documentation.
  • Proficiency with precision inspection equipment including CMMs, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and related metrology tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models.
  • Experience working with quality documentation systems and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.
  • Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or related quality certifications.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and special process controls.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, validate, and optimize CMM inspection routines using CAMIO software.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to inspection planning and dimensional analysis.
  • Perform and oversee First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
  • Create and maintain ballooned drawings, inspection plans, and FAI documentation packages.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain quality records.
  • Analyze inspection data and communicate findings to engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Investigate nonconformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineering, and design teams to improve product quality and manufacturability.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, AS9100 standards, and internal quality procedures.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
  • Maintain awareness of calibration requirements and ensure proper use of inspection equipment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, inspection processes, and measurement systems.
