About The Position

Skills Inc., one of Washington State’s largest aerospace suppliers, offers world-class, competitively-priced products and services. It is a fully integrated, self-funded non-profit with a social mission to train, employ, and serve persons with disabilities and the community. The company is seeking several Aerospace Production Specialists to join their team in Auburn, Washington. This is an entry-level position where training will be provided in assembling parts and performing a variety of production work in the finishing of aerospace parts. No prior experience is necessary, and advancement opportunities are available and strongly encouraged. Skills Inc. is a self-supporting Social Enterprise and is organized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, operating three lines of business: Aerospace Manufacturing, Aerospace Finishing, and Business Solutions, across three locations. The company employs over 250 people and its social mission is to train, employ, and serve persons with disabilities through direct hire, vocational programs and services, and as a community resource. Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions is critical
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and can adapt in a fast-paced, continually evolving environment
  • Strong problem solving, social, and oral/written communication skills
  • Can-do attitude, positive, and capable of communicating and relating to individuals at all levels
  • Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology
  • Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • A pre-employment drug screen and background check is required
  • Access to sensitive information and material pertaining to defense and military related technologies may only be accessed, viewed or shared by US Persons as defined by law (US citizen; a lawful permanent legal resident or an individual who has been admitted as a refugee or asylee)
  • Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the shop floor
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
